Sometimes you’re on the “right” side of the unfairness though. And then sometimes you’re on the unfortunate side.

It is. I can be unhappy about what I don’t have or I can celebrate the blessings I do have. No, I can’t run. Ever. Born with a crippling heart defect. Yes, I can still shovel snow if I pace myself carefully. I spent this past winter clearing snow for those who could not do it for themselves.
It was a good reminder to have an attitude of gratitude because what is a problem for me is a problem someone with worse luck would be grateful to have.

Yes, its unfair. It’s up to people to try to make life more fair than it is naturally. It’s a never ending battle which can never be won, but its a battle worth fighting.

Good people die young…bad people win the lottery. There really is a randomness to it all.
But I believe the good I do today will come back to me down the road. It might not, but I still think this is a good mindset to have…to live your life by.

Sure, it doesn’t say anywhere that life has to be fair. Like @Patrick says, “Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people.” But sometimes life is fair and good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people."

It was never fair.
But we were taught to believe it was.
Told we’re all equal it’s all up to you
That anyone can make it if they try.
But we’re not the same.
Not in how we’re seen,
not in where we start,
not in what’s possible.
Fairness was the slogan.
Some people can rise but not everyone circumstances allow it.

How can I say life is unfair. I am given health insurance and disability pay. My father’s done and is doing all he can for me. My family is doing all they can for us. My dad bought me all he could buy for me. Everything I’ve ever asked for when I was growing up. I dropped out of high school and was able to obtain a college degree paid for by the government. Life is doing all it can for me. Life couldn’t be any more fair to me.

If life was fair, we’d deserve all the crap that would be thrown at us. Let’s be grateful for the blessings in our life, in things we’re able to do, because some people aren’t as blessed as us. I know that’s odd to say to a bunch of schizophrenics, but its necessary to keep a thankful heart if we want lasting happiness.

Its always been unfair… society is soo successful at protecting ..feeding and entertaining us that we really get confused when the natural world shows us the other side.
This has been something ive been struggling with for years. Back when we had to fight wolves and survive the wild we probably had a better grasp on the nature of life but now we have created this very safe bubble and we feel entitled to good things happening to us…
Im trying to do better at letting my entitlement go..

I think intelligence is fair. If something is unfair it is unintelligent to me. Who am I being unfair too? Who am I making life unfair too?

one aspect of unfairness is some people play by the rules when others cheat through life.
if cheating is the norm like tax evasion scamming hacking step over others the world becomes harder for those who don’t.
not all working hard is the same. there’s so much bad ways of getting ahead that it makes it unfair harder for everyone else.

I guess how I fare in life depends on how fair life is. I have to pay my fare. I could have an affair. I could get killed on a ride at the fair. Life is not a fairytale. I guess I am doing fairly well. I could hit a hole in one from the fairway. Fair well for now. I will hunt some fair game.
