When I was a small kid the drugstore across the street would have a jar with lengths of licorice, both red and black. They cost 2 cents for one piece. Me and my sisters big treat was going to the drugstore with my dad and he would buy us a couple of pieces each.
And then Vietnam escalated, Kennedy was assassinated and race riots became bigger, more common and more dangerous and the world became a scarier place.

I love licorice. Most licorice looks black, gut it is actually a very very very dark green. If you eat the whole large bag of licorice, you will soon end up with green poop.
A study had shown that black licorice lowers IQ. Meanwhile, some of us are so dam smart, that we are sick of being so smart. That is why we love black licorice.
I’ve eaten soap before when I was little, but I forgot to add that licorice tastes like tar also. It tastes like a cross between tar and soap. I haven’t eaten tar, but I have smelled it.

Yep, I love licorice allsorts and red licorice.
Can’t handle the black stuff.
I remember as a kid, my mum picked me up from school, a rare treat, and she had a chocolate for me. I bit into it and it was chocolate covered licorice.
I’ve thought from that moment on the woman has been trying to kill me.
