Letter to gp from psychiatrist

“Patient has been experiencing periods of anxiety, which manifest particularly in social situations. Context is particularly
important in generating anxiety. When she is doing a repetitive task then she may be bored but overall does not cause her
significant anxiety. If they ask her to switch and do different things then she is exposed to anxiety provoking situations. This
appears to stem from a lack of confidence and possibly difficult to adapt and process new challenges.
The patient has a history of psychosis, which has occurred twice, and is currently taking aripiprazole. Psychotic episodes
are likely linked to prolonged states of anxiety that disrupt also her sleep. She remembered in the last admissions she was
not able to sleep. Also the use of SSRIs has caused her in the past episodes of elated mood. Over the years there have
been diagnostic formulations involving bipolar disorder orschizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder. Patient is interested in
obtaining a definitive diagnosis. She had previously completed an autism questionnaire, where she scored high and ti was
suggested an assessment for autism is required. this was almost 2 yearsa g o .S h eh a sn o theard since.”

Just part of the letter not the full thing

It’s written level headed and constructive.

I’ve had to read some crazy reports from pdocs in the past.

This one seems well written.

People in the medical field are the worst with handwriting. But he’s to the point. I think his secretary wrote it though.

That’s a very concise letter. Better than the things my gp wrote me. He didn’t really address my problems but instead where I progressed. It was meant to be a supporting statement for benefits (back then)

They should be able to tell if you have Autism by just observing you. I don’t think a questionnaire can reveal an Autism/Asperger diagnosis. They could tell I did not have Austim/Asperger rather quickly during a brief appointment.
