Legend Louise Fletcher has passed. In her honor, what was your favorite part of "one flew over the cuckoo's nest"?

She was the best part of the movie for sure.

Just pure evil.

Not an easy role, but she won an Oscar.

I saw her as one of the good guys and Nicholson’s character as evil. There’s always that one guy you wish would shut the heck up (especially in a psych ward) and he played him. The world needs more Fletchers.

Great movie, great actress… RIP…
idk about my favourite part, but it was a hard movie, tragic ending  those things usually trigger me…
But thanks, dear, for sharing this with us…

I have seen this movie like that before, but I still prefer Jack Nicolson to Nurse Rached. I don’t see Nurse Rached as pure evil, though. She’s odious, but pure evil is something different.

Jack Nicholson’s character was annoying, kind of like how he is in real life.

I can get into Jack Nicholson’s screen presence. He plays an evil person well, like in “A Few Good Men”, or in “The Shining”. He is totally unlikable in those movies, but he gives these characters a good portrayal, and when he plays a good person it can be delightful.

I loved it usually when they were all sitting in group and nicholson would crack up at some of the people’s response in the group…I also loved it when Chief smothered nicholson and escaped…

This is Dr. So and so. Dr. So and so. Dr. So and so. Mr. Harding. Dr. So and so.

:joy:

Jack Nicolson’s greatest role was in that movie where a giant plant eats people. The original version.

I thought that movie was alright. I have a copy of the book but havent finished it. The book is actually from the perspective of the mute native american guy.
I absolutely loved the ratched series though. I know its basically got nothing to do with the book or movie. But it was super entertaining.

The movie was before my time. I heard it changed mental health policy for a time.

I heard about her death.

In the world of Star Trek her character (antagonist) on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was “Kai Winn Adami” colloquially known as “Space Karen” by us Star Trek geeks. A nasty Bajoran religious character on the show.

Oh, what a shame, i didn’t know. By pure coincidence, i bought the film off amazon last night for £3.99, maybe that’s why it was on offer.
