I guess everybody saw the locked thread that I had earlier this morning and it even caused another thread later because of the controversial matter of God on this site. I didn’t mean to offend anyone and I feel maybe I am “out of place” on this site because of it. I honestly only am here to try to help others with our illness and I will refrain from thanking God or making more posts where God is part of my post. I know many here don’t even believe in God and I usually keep my spirituality to myself but there it was this morning. I am mostly ashamed of being a Christian on this site because there are so very many bad Christians in the world that it makes it hard to be one, at least speaking for myself. I don’t blame many for being sore about God when there is so much hypocrisy in the world concerning Christians.
Please don’t leave Dreamscape, I love your posts and you are a nice person! I don’t know who Pat Deegan is, is he a Christian?
I didn’t see your post, but when someone posts about God I don’t get offended. Those used to be my beliefs, but now I am a Buddhist, so not anymore. Spirituality and personal beliefs help us get through hard times, and be thankful when things are good. We can post that we believe aliens are stealing our thoughts so why not post beliefs about God?
I know what you mean about running into Christians that seem to neglect the Golden Rule. I had a bad experience with a group that turned me off to Christianity.

I like your posts, Dreamscape. I like both Christianity and Buddhism. But I agree either Christianity or Buddhism should be kept as personal belief and not suitable for preach on forum because the atheists do have good questions that are very challenging or eyeopening. So there are more than one truth in this world when it comes to religious belief.
Then there comes the question of how to live with the people who have different religious believes? The only path towards harmony is tolerance and avoiding preach.

Anyway, hmm, I don’t care if people talk about anything on here. I think all viewpoints should have equal access.
Jobu is from an old movie entitled “major league”.(dumb movie but fun as well)
It was voodoo-ish and stuff.
Maybe there is an actual jobu though.
The guy in the movie was offering him rum so that his bat could conquer the curve balls he couldn’t hit.
@Dreamscape i love inspirational stories of people like that, to achieve so much after mental illness is amazing, i’d love to read more later.
on posting about my beliefs on this site i try to keep it at a minimum because the rules dictate that we should not talk about our religious beliefs so we are not free to do that really which is a shame,
my religion helps me get through life now and it helped me out a lot dealing with my fathers death and other things and its basically moral support, thats what God is really and Jesus etc its all just moral support and it is a shame that people don’t see that and just hate on it.
I think Christianity is good,it can increase your faith and bring you something to rely on
