In the end it was terrible but i have restless legs genetics. The akathisia and dysphoria it caused made me restless it was like chinese water torture in my legs. It made me go to the emergency room for akathisia.

Im on invega now and doing well.

Latuda i gained weight but i very little. I want to wait for research to be done on latuda twice a day daily instead of once. Anyways yeah it can make it hard to sit still and taking it impeded my focus.

I think latuda gets you a little dopamine buzz from its 5ht7 antagonism

Ahhhh I had restless legs from Abilify
I got off that med primarily cause of that.
I heard some people say you gotta tough it out a few months before it goes away

How long were you on Latuda?

First two weeks I had unbearable jawclenching and was given muscle relaxation medication for it.

Eventually the jaw clenching went away.

I get a bit anxious and insomnia after I take it but otherwise it’s been good.

I’ve been on it over six years.

It took me over a month to adjust to it but I love it now I am used to it.
It is slightly annoying having to structure my meals around taking it but for me it is the best med I have taken. I had issues with feeling overly sedated on other meds but on Latuda I feel myself and not slowed down.

I am on a low dose. I didn’t have any side effects. I’ve tried Risperidone and Aripiprazole and both gave me a host of side effects even at tiny dosages with no positive benefits to speak of, including but not limited to akathisias, muscle twitches, emotional volatility, ravenous hunger and subsequent weight gain.

After starting Latuda I went on a weight loss diet once fully out of psychosis and lost 25 kg(55 lbs) over a year. I am currently still on the diet and I plan to lose 4 more kg(9 lbs) and I’m still experiencing improvements in my cognitive and negative symptoms, albeit more enabled by the drug than caused by it. Latuda mainly improved my positives over the course of 3 months or so which then pretty much stabilized themselves into very minor and unobtrusive.

I do wake up many times each night and Latuda may be playing a role in that, I can’t tell. For me the drug worked wonders, I hope it will work well for you too.

Yeah, a lot of hunger, weight gain, and tiredness.

I don’t know, it is not known for weight gain, but that happened to me.

Yeah one of the reasons he wants to try Latuda is because it’s known to be the least to cause that. Weird, but everyone responds differently

lurasidone is good and potent antipsychotic that works well for all symptoms (positive+negative+cognition).unfortunately i have noticed annoying side effects of lurasidone lately. indigestion, extrapyramidal symptoms, panic attack and fear in my brain, chest pain.

I didn’t feel comfortable on it and couldn’t sleep. I felt unsafe and switched to Olanzapine within a month.

I get insomnia and akathisia on it but am good on it apart from that.

Can you please tell me how your switch to olanzapine went.

Do you sleep better?
What dose?

I’m thinking of switching to Olanzapine but heard that can cause akathisia too and huge weight gain.

I was on Latuda for a bit before switching to Invega.

No weight gain and no side effects while on it.

Great for psychotic depression.

I haven’t missed a night’s sleep on it in years. I started on 20mg but now take 10mg. With the higher dose you become very docile and basically just eat, sit, sleep so a lower dose is better. As you don’t get the hunger pangs and then obviously the weight gain. It doesn’t block out voices though.

psycward Im surpriced that you Got mean on Latuda cause thats how I experienced it from the father drug of Latuda Ziprasidone . Shitty life to loose 20 years + 20 months cold turkey to a med that realt hurt my life in so Many ways.

Yep, I was really mean on Latuda and manic and evil all three you could say it did not help with any of my paranoia either and sometimes when I was on Latuda I would cry lots of times for no reason unparticular. Worst drug I was on for me everyone is different though what works for some people may not work as well for others or at all in my case when I took this med.

Psychward. You are so right and because of what the Zeldox made me to. I’ve no urge to try Latuda.
So I’m very pleased to be on a meds combo that calms me down.

I am also on the right combo of Abilify10mg and Lexapro20mg been a total game changer and lifesaver for me haven’t even wanted to try anything else why change what works best for me. And you know the saying if it is not broke then don’t fix it or something to that effect.I am also glad that you found something that works for you @Ghosts
