Hi there, I have been taking latuda and for the past 2 years I feel really drowsy after taking it at night with dinner. I would be really drowsy after an hour or so. So I adjusted my time of taking the medication to an hour before I sleep. However, I tried taking latuda right after dinner this past week and surprisingly I am no longer drowsy. Does your body’s biochemistry and reaction to medication changes over time, hence no longer being drowsy?
Taking it with food makes it absorb slower. It’s called lipid solubility. I take my Geodon with food and it doesn’t knock me out at all.

I take my Latuda with food and I don’t feel drowsy. But I take most of it in the morning and it gets me going.
isn’t latuda just buspar mixed with some other antipsychotic that’s been around for years?
No; lurasidone is a relatively new molecular formulation. Buproprion and lurasidone are occasionally used in combination, but they’re not combo-formulated.
