Last week I was diagnosed with serotonin syndrome. The night before I was manic and delusional, the next morning I didn’t have delusions or mania anymore but I had severe anxiety, shakiness etc. My doc prescribed me propranolol and periactin, no benzo. Now, a week later I’m extremely exhausted all day everyday, what’s going on? I haven’t felt like this since my first psychotic episode, I don’t think I even felt this bad then.

Did you overdosed on ssri or something?

I take lexapro and latuda, but my gp prescribed me cipro and cyclobenzaprine for a uti and to help with sleep. I’ve also been messing around with gaba supplements, being as careful as possible. I don’t think I’m going through any withdrawal from the gaba but it could be possible I guess

I’m with my family, I have a good support system thankfully. Now I just feel too tired to go to work and do something with my day

OK, I won’t ask what gaba supplements etc…
Gaba withdrawal are nasty, I was in bed for two weeks when i run out from pregabalin…

I don’t know what is “cipro and cyclobenzaprine for a uti”?

I guess you are afraid it will last, but i doubt it will. Your pdoc would keep check on you if you are in some danger.

The reason I ask is in case something happens. I hope you get it sorted out the meds.

I forgot, I’m also on evekeo, which I stopped taking (for one day) when the ss came up. I’m afraid that to be functional I’ll need a benzo but my pdoc is really hesitant on prescribing them to me

This is perfectly understandable considering you had serotonin syndrome only last week! Just take it easy and I’m sure you’ll be back to normal in no time.

I hear people all the time saying they have serotonin syndrome. I am a little sceptical of it.
