Do you guys suffer cognitive impairments, or other issues, while trying to learn a language?
How does language learning interact with your symptoms?

I will be very honest,
When I got ill with SZ, it’s harder for me to learn languages.
I studied English, and my low motivation and a bit impaired memory made it harder to learn new words, than for example before SZ.
Because before SZ, learning languages seemed like a joke! If I was putting effort it always was good.
Now… it’s a bit harder.
I graduated, but my exam mark was no brilliant at all.
So I believe it’s a bit harder to learn languages when you have SZ.
And one thing I want to mention… i was terribly anxious when I was asked to present presentations in English or talk on any topic in college. I never was socially anxious until SZ.
Again… I really dislike this illness
@Loke Is a Genius when it comes to languages.
If life give you ■■■■, make a compost heap !
Awww
thank you
I don’t retain like I used to but it’s still fun to study.
You put my limited Latin to shame lol. x
I can’t do tonal languages like Mandarin. I can’t do French
On a prior day, I found it strangely hard to retain some words in Arabic, but, today, these same words were easy to retain.
German was unusually difficult, today, as my memory of the language was more impaired, and I made mistakes, due to that, and insertions.
The word I found unusually hard to retain, even though it was a relearned word, which I had in Spanish, back in college, was the word for pen, “bolígrafo.”
I was afraid of voices insulting me in more than one language.
I had that happen to me lol
I used to attempt learning some languages when I was manic which boosted my ego but did not last long.
Whom appears in your symptoms? They speak these languages?
@Jinx spanish is my second language. My voices mostly speak to me in Spanish.
I don’t know if its the sza or what but it has been extremely difficult for me to pick up a second language, in my case Spanish. I have been trying for the last 53 years. Of course, it could also be due to my poor hearing for which I’ve only recently been wearing hearing aids.
I’ve finally been making some progress in the last couple of years.
