Since I started this med I’ve felt so much improvement in mood symptoms it feels so refreshing. Problem is I may be allergic. I keep getting hives, my Dr told to stop if that happens so I went off it, went into a mixed episode for a month, Dr told me during that time that shes goig to titrate me back up on it and see if the hives resolve if it doesn’t get bad. So far it’s been mild except when it first happened, nothing in my mouth so she’s hoping it’s a temporary side effect. Me too. I feel so much less depressed. They said my depression was moderately severe which is one notch below the highest level of depression they classify. And now I feel like I’m not depressed hardly at all.
Hope it goes well for u @Moon
A very low dose of Lamotrigine halts my depression in its tracks.
I can’t take higher doses because it triggers mania but I may ask my psychiatrist to up my Lamictal dose a bit more so I can lower my Depakote dose.
Depakote makes me gain weight, Lamotrigine is weight neutral for me
I have noticed some manic like symptoms with doseage increases on lamictal
I had an allergic reaction to it on day 1. By day 2 i had a fever, my left arm was numb from my shoulder to my hand, and it felt like my throat was starting to swell, and all my joints hurt like heck.
Thus that was the end of my lamotrigine trial lol
Oh sheesh! That’s awful
I might try tegretol but i wonder if ill have a similar problem as its another sodium channel blocker.
