“This generation’s snake oil.”
I tried some gas station CBD gummies when I was on the verge of a panic attack and had no other options. Didn’t do a thing for me.
I hear it cures ingrown toe nails and racism.
I mean, it’s not meant to treat anxiety disorders. It just helps some people calm down. I wonder if it’s one of those things that has different effects on different people.
Early on medical marijuana cards were handed out more to people with injuries that caused pain. Arthritis and such medical conditions as well. Then research indicated that it helped cancer patients dealing with depression and side effects of radiation treatment. Then it became more common for people with severe depression or similar medically documented conditions. The early intentions of medical marijuana were to find an alternative and effective treatment to medical conditions. Of course marijuana advocates have always wanted to legalize it.
Once medical marijuana appeared on the ballot for many states, it became a business to evaluate patients for medical marijuana cards. After that, you’d literally hear about people with a broken pinky that got access to medical marijuana for their “pain”. However, having had my medical marijuana card for several years before recreational use was legalized in this state, I did meet a lot of other people who found genuine medicinal help from medical marijuana. Ranging from cancer patients I spoke with, to people who clearly had trouble walking because of a painful injury, and one thing I did learn is that it actually does help people with epileptic seizures. Another thing I noticed, the older the person, the more legitimate their reason for a medical marijuana card was.
There is documented evidence of medicinal marijuana use for some medical conditions. When it comes down to it though, now marijuana is a bigger business than ever. In the beginning of medical marijuana legalization, the use was more legitimate and the research seemed more realistic. Then there was a big pro marijuana research phase. Also, medical marijuana dispensaries treated you as a patient and sometimes there was even a medical doctor in some. The people treated you like a person and not just a customer. Also, some were kind to the point where they’d provide medicinal marijuana for much less cost.
I will tell you this much, they knew when a patient was really using marijuana for medicinal use. Even 8 could tell when someone just wanted to get high and called up a family doctor. They were usually more well off younger folk. Another really important thing is that medical marijuana wasn’t all about what strain is the most potent. Now it is all about making enough money to pay for the license to keep the dispensary open.
As for the CBD craze, that’s really just a pro legalization movement. Sure potent CBD strains became popular for not getting a person too stoned while still giving them a solid high which some say might be safer for those with mental health related conditions, but in reality, I think CBD use is much better suited as an ointment and then it must be really high potency CBD ointment. That is usually more for pain or muscle relaxation. Kind of like Vick’s Vaporub but more effective when it comes to pain. Truth is though with recreational marijuana use, there is no real product regulation. One CBD cream can be completely less effective than another.
Now people are trying to sell something while trying to get it legalized nationwide. Before, medical dispensaries were a lot more afraid of being sued or being brought down by the gavel in court. Hell, the law could theoretically raid them at any point if there was even a small suspicion of illicit sales. Now there is soooooo much marijuana being grown that companies are just competing for profits. The CBD craze is clear evidence of that.
Is cannabis medicinal for mental health conditions? In my personal experiences, low THC cannabis is. I’m talking really low THC. Then it’s like a nice cigarette. Real ■■■■, in California, it is incredibly difficult to find lower potency marijuana now. I’m talking about that 70’s devil grass cannabis. Not that “kryptachronakuntalyte” that makes you eat the baby’s cereal and then you fall asleep when you smoke it cannabis.
It restored four inches to my pee pee after the Invega depot shriveled it.
