Just Tried Bengal Spice Tea

Thanks @ZombiePupper

Apple Cinnamon sounds good @LED. I was going to buy some today, but it had chamomile and I didn’t want to be tired from it.

I just tried Apple Cinnamon and I immediately did the dishes and took a shower. Maybe there is something to it.

I know, right?

I don’t have that exact kind but it’s better than coffee!

Have you tried Peppermint tea @twinklestars. Does that do anything?

It tastes good.

Maybe good for digestion, or congestion.

Chamomile, which the apple cinnamon contains, has micro quantities of a substance like valium (it’s not actual valium) which is why it’s relaxing.

I’ve been wondering though, after reading the rat studies on microdosing of benzos improving cognition (normal doses inhibit cognition) if maybe chamomile might work in a similar way.

Perhaps the chamomile and cinnamon work together.

I’m also open to this being a placebo effect, but it’s $3.50 a box, and it’s continued to work, so bring it on

I’ve been recommending Bengal Spice tea on this forum for years now. I see someone has finally tried it. It is very good.

Bengal spice is $2.50 at my grocery store. 2 for 4 dollars.

Yeah @SkinnyMe it’s good stuff.

What’s your take on Green Tea @twinklestars?

It’s good, contains theanine (so does black tea). It contains less caffeine generally than black tea. It is more likely to stain your teeth, oddly enough.

If you like it, drink it. 127 million Japanese can’t be wrong, eh?

What kind of tea do you think tastes good @mermaid1?

I drink chamomile for anxiety, it helps but does not taste good. I also drink ginger and lemon.

I like the taste of earl grey and white tea :tea:

I love chai, but I’m not too big of a fan of the American spice mixed tea bags, so I get Earl Gray tea with Bergamon as a base. Next, I buy cinnamon powder, powdered cloves, and powdered nutmeg. I buy full cardamom pods off amazon because they’re less expensive as full pods than in powder form.

It’s a time-consuming process, but I cut open the pods with scissors and put the seeds into my automatic coffee grinder and grind them into a medium fine powder. I mix all the spices together and put a tiny pinch into my tea cup and voila! homemade chai, made just how I like it!

The black pepper is usually too strong for me, so I don’t use it, same with star anise, etc…so I love to mix my own chai spices so I can customize it to my taste!

I am also a big fan of yerba mate, Teavana’s passionfruit tea, sencha green tea, and kukicha green tea.

Kukicha has little twigs in it and it has less caffeine, according to my google search just now. It has this unique taste I can’t describe, big fan!

Your homemade chai sounds amazing. Do you add milk and sugar?

Yes! I put in some half and half and sugar or honey and it’s great! Been needing to grind up more spices but I’ve been lazy lol
Thank you!

I had to laugh at this.

I’m a decaf coffee drinker generally. I like Bengal Spice tea but I rarely drink it.
