Just joined

Hello, I just joined minutes ago. I’m not sure if this is the right place for me, I’m actually schizoaffective (bipolar type), but I thought I’d check it out. I don’t normally do online chat rooms and whatever, either, but what the hell. My mood symptoms are currently well-controlled, just a matter of getting a firmer grip on the schizo side of things, though that is mostly under control at this point as well.

Gday and welcome to the site

Howdy, welcome to you

I’m schizoaffective too but my psychotic symptoms are in check, it’s mostly my mood side of things that is bothering me.

Schizoaffectives are perfectly welcome here. Half the people on this site are dx’ed sza, myself included.

Yeah, my psychotic stuff is mostly in check; thankfully, it’s been years since I was fully psychotic, as far as being delusional and hallucinating. Lately it’s been more minor stuff, like forever carrying on conversations with people in my head, though that has lessened with the injections I’m getting now; it no longer dominates my day. There’s also the constant detached state, but that’s become normal for me over the years. In a sort of sick way I actually prefer my usual detached state, because it is so bewildering when I briefly come out of it when in public, especially if I come out of it at work; suddenly being fully engaged in reality freaks me the hell out, everything suddenly seems way too real, but I always quickly slip back to being detached again. Ok, that was a long reply lol.
