It’s been nearly a year since I had heard from her, and this afternoon she hit me up on messenger. It was kinda nice. She was one of my best friends at one time, a few years ago we were hanging out all the time, then she relapsed (heroin) and I started hearing from her less and less. It was nice catching up; she told me she’s been clean and sober for a little while now, with a job and her own apartment. I’m very happy for her. 
She lives kinda far from me now (we used to live in the same city), but when I move I’ll be living close enough to visit her. She’s a good person, just happens to have an addiction to a terrible substance.

That’s neat that you all got caught up and soon you’ll be able to visit. I’ve met up with some old friends after 20 years on facebook and I think it’s neato. It’s a trip to hear about children and grandchildren from people I only knew as kids.
