leaving my mum (75 years old) to cope with my crazy sister alone other than when i visit or she meets with friends for lunch or cards and Al anon
mum was my carer for years before i met my husband in 07
prognosis was poor
she saved my life
I Will try to stay over at her flat every 7 - 10 nights
or even 2x a week if i am needed
my husband’s father is extremely ill in hospital
he is going to a care home
i am going to be left to care for husband’s mother while my sister and mum take care of each other and their dog
my husband’s work has changed longer hours / nightshifts / commute not really viable
wow lots of changes
Good luck hope everything works out
Husband’s first night shifts are tomorrow night and the next 2
at least we have cats
we can get a dog when only 1 cat surviving
a kitten and a puppy together
keen to get a dog now
Thanks
yes i don’t want to jinx it but it’s going easy if it goes how it is now
i have free travel so i will be able to go back to mum’s easily
Does that mean they will cut or stop your benefits because of the savings? I have to deal with this. living on benefits with a mortgage is a nightmare.
Hi, no it won’t
the benefits i’m on are not means tested… they are for disabled
I think anyway
i’ll check thanks
!
Oh really? My dla is unaffected but esa only let you have so much in savings before they cut them.
ESA not sure I’ll have to look into it
I think the savings would be offset by some of the remaining mortgage
we will have to see what happens
a lot will be spent in the move
and extras like a car and etc
i don’t know i think it will all be in my husband’s name
i willl check
yes just figured out it is £6000 max in savings
We will pay the mortgage off more
i’m sure that would be legal
also thanks for the heads up!!
