Thought the night wasn’t going too bad when I got my £40 up to £125 and I said to my self just a couple of more bets to get up to a nice amount (say £150, then withdraw £100) and ill stop. Ended up losing the lot! Not won a decent amount in a long time felt ■■■■ but the ■■■■ feeling usually doesn’t last very long, after an hour or so I’m starting to feel a bit better as my mind is taken off it (coming on here is great), I recover quickly from the depressive feelings after a loss…does anyone else here gamble ? if so, to what extent ? how much do you gamble ? are you in control ? ever won really big ? or lost a lot ?..
I play the pokies occassionally. I’ll put through $20-$40 max. I usually, these days take it away if I double my money. Otherwise I’m prepared to lose $20 every couple of months or so. Biggest win was $700!
Not lately. But I used to play in a casino when I was younger. Sometimes I won and sometimes I lost, but finally I realized that the bank always wins and it’s not worth it.
Hello, I use to gamble, and lost around 100,000 before I quit. It was very exhilarating, the high’s of striking a BIG WIN! But, it is a disease like any other disease, an addiction, the worse thing that can happen to you is to win a lot of money once, you will quickly become addicted… My best advice, is if you can truly do this only once in great while and only spend what you can afford to lose than it is fine, it is not an addiction, it is entertainment, but be warned people with mental illness are very susceptible to gambling, as well as many other addictions, it is a high to counteract your lows, the problem is, you will NEVER WIN! The casino’s, the house in the long-run will always win. You are better using your money to go on a nice trip, or buy something for yourself that you like. DON’T GIVE THE CASINO’S ALL OF YOUR MONEY!!!
When I was in my mid teens I got hooked on poker. I made 1 promise to myself, never put my own money onto the poker account, only winnings.
Back then poker sites were giving out free cash to start cuz poker was booming, nowadays they rarely do that. There are still freerolls you can play.
Why the “no personal money deposit” is so important has a psychological reason. Once you start down that path it’s hard to quit, you’ve lost 100 dollars let’s say and you’re thinking what’ just 10 more, before you know it you’ve raked up quite big losses.
Even if you only win pennies at first to start your bankroll you’ll still have the psychological edge of separating your earned cash from poker money.
Forget pit games and the one armed bandits, playing them is quite useless and a waste of time and money, I’ve been to plenty of casinos and never touched either of those things, not online either.
Poker’s gotten very competitive but it’s still the only gambling game where you can win long term. I have no urge to gamble.
Learning to get better at the game is so much fun, not to mention playing it. Poker is more fun when you’re actually good at it. It’s more like a video game for me, except I actually win money.
im playing roulette 10 years and im up profit.
I don’t gamble well. I can easily see myself becoming a gambling addict. I have to stay away from it.
I’ll throw a $20 in a slot machine once a year but I don’t even play the lottery scratch off tickets. The only thing I might like is bingo. Played bingo on the ward once. It took an hour to play one card as there was lots of repeating going on.
I love you @ThePickinSkunk !
Enjoy your bingo!
