I like that they did give a nod to Odo (Worf mentioning the honourable man), but it would sure have been nice to have a few more DS9 characters show up or get worked in as Easter eggs. I loved bringing back Walter Koenig as Anton Checkov (cameo) and the fact that it was also a nod to the deceased Anton Yelchin who played Checkov in the Abramsverse. It is frankly some of the best fan service I have ever seen in a Trek series.

Exactly. Its liked they got all the writers of season 2 together and said, “y’all fired”, then got a new writing staff for season 3 to almost retcon season 2. Instead of that one girl being in charge of the borg in lala land, they were once again at they’re rightful spot as the enemy.

With that said, I do think they could have added more ds9 in there, particularly with Odo and the changelings. But what we got was great fan service and a good story too. I just wish Sisko would make an appearance again. He was always one of my favorite captins.
