It’s more structured and theses accountability. The old manager was rubbish, we got a new manager and when they were cleaning out the office they found loads of controlled medication like ADHD drugs in the filing cabinets that hadn’t been cleaned in over a year since the person moved out.

Ugh that can be frustrating. Is there space in the kitchen for these things? Do you guys have a pantry where they could go? I can’t tell whether he just enjoys these things being in the living room, or if he jut isn’t sure where else to put them. If it’s the latter, He would probably be grateful if you found a better place to store them. If it’s the former, that’s a really weird guy. As far as roommates go, there are definitely worse habits than using the living room as storage. But it is a super weird preference.

Now it’s 10:45 pm and he’s cooking his dinner and he’ll be in there at least an hour. Which is typical for him. He could be a lot worse for sure but he does some really annoying stuff.

Things that wind me up about my house mates.
- Hour long baths
- smoking with the kitchen door wide open when it’s cold
- filling the kettle full for one mug off tea
- leaving the house a tip after cooking
- letting his gerbils crawl all over the kitchen table, them shitting all over it
- leaving all the lights on when he goes to bed.

Since retiring and now living alone my emotional life has gotten a bit dull and uneventful. Looking back on my working life I think I was bullied a lot. But a couple of years ago I came to the conclusion that everyday bullies and a_holes are like a type of flight simulator for when the real thing happens, i.e. when we eventually come across someone truly dangerous and sinister. Bullies and a_holes are Mother Nature’s way of giving us a dry run and practice for that deadly situation.
