Jamming acoustic outside— a bad idea?

I was in the mood for playing acoustic and singing, but my GF went to bed.
So I walked outside and around the corner to an empty parking lot to jam a bit. Only two people walked by and they ignored me.
I’ve never done this before. There is a motel in front of the retirement park I live in. So there is a certain element of druggies and homeless people who hang out at the motel parking lot and on the Main Street our front.
I’m just wondering if I should call it quits on jamming outside or if it’s okay to wander around with a cheap acoustic and make a bit of noise.
I have no interest in making any new friends.

Go for it. Maybe seek out a better location. I used to play out on a street where people like to do bar crawls. I’d put a few coins and $1s in my guitar case and I’d usually get some tips. I would promote my bands upcoming shows too.

Good times.

I think it’s awesome that you played where people can hear you. I get nervous playing even in front of Mr. Star. As long as you feel like you’re not in danger of being robbed, it sounds like a fun way to get out of the house and be creative.
