Very sorry to hear this. Insomnia sucks. Maybe drinking a cup of hot honey water to get relaxed?

Insomnia can occur due to several reasons. If you take a stimulant medication it can cause insomnia. Coffee is a stimulant so is tea as both contain caffeine. Several medications come under stimulant category. For example adderall used for ADHD is stimulant. So the first step is to eliminate all stimulants from your diet. The next reason for insomnia is day time sleep. Avoid using bed unless its night sleep time. Try these two tips and see if its helping your night time sleep.

My husband struggles a lot with insomnia.

He’s found a lot of relief with CBD and listening to nighttime meditation apps.

Also sleep stories.

They’ve super helped him and now he’s almost on a regular sleep schedule.

I feel you… just yesterday I was in the same position… went to bed at around 11:00, at 04:00 I was still awake in bed trying to sleep (checked time, barely noticed how fast time passed)

I have some resentment around this topic because so often when I get a new med provider or new counselor, and they hear I cannot sleep, they say, “That should be quick fix.” Wrong.

I don’t know what to do about it.

If it is any help, my siblings have similar complaints.

Well I got over my fear of dying of exhaustion by lying on the couch and listening to a 24 hour Jazz channel. I didn’t sleep much but discovering that I could encouraged me. So that along with the assistance of trazadone and some of my anxiety medicine that I don’t abuse I can sleep about 5-6 hours and the fact I was up at 2 am doesn’t bother me much.

Is CBD legal where you live? Maybe try that?

i Also struggled to sleep on geodon, like @LilyoftheValley.

I’ve been off of geodon for 6 months.

It took about 3 days off of geodon for me to be able to sleep at night.

If you haven’t tried meditative therapies, I would look into those coping mechanisms.

I struggled with sleep in my early youth, and my mom taught me some good breathing tricks. literally thinking “out” when you breath out, and “in” when you breath in. Sometimes that can seem just the same as counting to sleep, but its not as mentally stimulating as trying to figure out what comes next, so I feel its more soothing.

Sorry, to hear that you’re not getting help from the medications you’ve tried.

Yes. 20 mg of Celexa every morning.

Geodon used to make me so sleepy that I used to almost fall asleep while driving on the interstate. Very dangerous.
