I’ve been conditioned since birth to be a doormat. Selfish people seem to do better in life anyway.

There is nothing wrong with prioritizing your own well-being in many situations.
Don’t be selfish or unselfish just be.
I need to focus a bit more on people. I’m a bit too self-absorbed most of the time. Sometimes I feel trapped in my own mind, and I don’t know if it’s because of the schizophrenia, or if it’s because I might be on the autism spectrum…

Take care of you first. I say no all the time. And I don’t talk to people I don’t want to talk to.
Does anyone think this is a common occurrence with people with MH issues?
I have had phases when I feel like I have been to soft too.
I have one friend with SZ who is always getting “defriended” or people are mean to him for no reason.
Remember you owe your kindness to no one. You don’t have to be kind to people unless you want to.
