Last night at 1am I couldn’t sleep, because of a fluttering sound in my ceiling ( I have drop a ceiling). It sounded like a bird was trapped in there and fluttering back and forth. I finally popped out one of the squares and looked around in the ceiling with a flashlight. No bird.
I couldn’t get the square back in place, properly and I just decided to deal with it tomorrow.
I tried to go back to sleep, then around 2am, a cute little baby mouse dropped from the ceiling and landed on my pillow, right beside my head, and startled the ■■■■ out of me.
Took me forever to catch it and put it outside. Then I had to put my bedding in the wash.
Long story short, I’m tired as hell today. What a night…
That’s kind of sad. If it was a baby, it might not survive out in the wild on it’s own. But you did what you had to do I guess.
Geez I would freak out. It looks like a rat you know?
Yeah, you’re right.
I just assumed it was a baby, because it’s tail was so short. I don’t know all that much about mice.
The thought of keeping him surprisingly never crossed my mind. I was just thinking he would have died if I didn’t get him out of the ceiling.
Definitely not a rat. I live in a rat-free province. Also I used to raise them when I lived in Saskatchewan, so I know one when I see one.
Maybe you should get a cat. Would do all the work for you.
I actually tried to, but I live in my brother’s house and he won’t let me.
I will be setting traps in the ceiling, though (humane ones, of course).
Looks like a big mouse. I’d move out. I can’t handle knowing little mice are running around my house.
Out-of-touch-Rhubot just dropping by to say that dude is adorable!!!
You did what I would have done. Poor mouse, I’m sure he’ll be ok.
Ugh! Mice!
That would definitely freak me out!
I would move out somewhere!
That definitely looks like it. So cute!
Yes, I think so. I’m getting some humane traps, today.
The rest of my household is freaking out.
You could get an ultrasonic mouse repeller. I’ve used them before, and never had a problem with mice afterwards.
Something like this:
Sounds frightening, but I will look into it. Thanks
It does look a bit like a vole. It’s head is quite round/fat for a mouse.
We used the humane mouse trap once.
We caught him and then set him free in a field.
And i’m not ■■■■■■■ kidding here as soon as we let him go a hawk came down and grabbed him and ripped him apart.
I don’t know what’s worse, the inhumane traps or nature. Because dude this freaking hawk ripped him apart realllllyyyy slowly.
Sorry mouse, did what we could? Wasn’t worth much.
Damn, that really blows…
Oh wow, that must have been awful. I’m sorry, and it was not your fault.
