After costs of living I’m left with a little over 100 bucks for the rest of the month…so tired of being so poor…and food stamps thankfully cover much of our food costs so far, but dangit, it gets old.
My disability money is not enough.
Fortunately i have my parents.
Since i changed my religious approach to being broke. Meditating in my apartment living poor, i believe its a blessings. Van Gogh for example didn’t had money for paints, how much cost paints ? he lived his passion.
I payed all my bills and I have enough money to buy food. But I have to budget. Otherwise I’ll end up hungry. No excessive expenses.
I have saved up some cash but I want to buy either a leather jacket or a new amplifier.
Next month will be the same. It’s my mother’s birthday and I’m thinking of buying her some Japanese kitchen knives. Those are expensive!
Every month I think of next pay day but it’s always someone’s birthday, or it’s something else. Like my faucet that broke and I needed to call the plumber in order to change it.
I remember a life in Germany, i wasn’t looking towards payday at all, i had enough money for my desires, enough to move to Australia, and was engaged to my exwife. Money wasn’t an issue. It all changed living in Australia. I moved into the wrong neighbourhood where people don’t believe in working for money. They couldn’t see i was working for money and been jealous i had it so good. These people put all their energy " in" to destroy my “good” life. I remember their names, but i forgave them. I know better than them. They are far gone.
The downside of all that stimulus money has arrived. There was no way it wasn’t causing inflation afterward.
Yes , printing money is not the way.
Yeah, @jukebox , that sucks. Just curious, what kinds of meals do you make?
It’s a perfect storm. War in Ukraine. Just-in-time supply chain busted by COVID and continuing to stay busted because of staffing issues. Bird flu causing shortage of chicken and eggs. Droughts causing farmers to sell off their herds and driving up price of beef. Too much money injected into the economy causing overheating.
I expect it to continue getting worse for another year. We’re dialing back all our expenses in preparation for it.
The solution would be simple, going to local farmers. They feed us. Giving them easy goods and services in return.
You mean the ones in my province who had crops fail the previous four years because of drought and who now have crops failing because of excess precipitation? The few who have harvested crops are having no trouble selling them since no grains are coming out of the Ukraine now. All the countries in the world are bidding for a reduced supply of many commodities. That’s also driving up food costs.
In Europe there is enough food, there is no draught. Where are you from ? Ethiopia ?
Western Canada. I live in the prairie region that produces a lot of the world’s grains.
Edit: No drought here this year. Lots of washed out crops. Oh, and hailed out crops.
Here we go. Its all a question of fair distribution.
I have a couple things that are about to impact what little we get in the way of benefits. I am likely unable to hold a full time job, but I am going to have to figure out something and hold it together.
I’m very glad we used the government cash to pay off some things and buy things that will help save money.
It’s a good thing I have the drive to learn to make or do things.
Yeah, as long we stay productive, in the arts, trades or fck i know. Its going to be good.
But maybe being unproductive is the new way, it safes working planet earth to death. I don’t know. It is said, what we consume currently, we need another planet earth .
