I´m not longer in Brussels. It was a place outside the center, don´t remember where exactly. It was dark and rainy, like the usual Belgian afternoon. There was a little place, somewhat hidden and dark-lighted. The owner received me with a big smile on his face, they were talking arabic and quickly switched to french when I arrived.
I ordered a dürüm, but without the usual kebab meat. I ordered an adana skewer. I asked them to put feta on it, they put a generous amount of feta, and some of their fresh veggies. Then, yoghurt sauce. No spicy sauce, just plain yoghurt sauce. And then,to my surprise, they added french fries inside. I´m not used to kebabs with french fries inside, but this time I thought “why not!”. The fries were seasoned with salt and a brown, spicy food seasoning. It was the best food I´ve ever had until…
I went back the next day. There was no trace of that Kebab place anymore. Maybe I confused directions, maybe it was all a dream I dreamed last night. Who knows?
Ok, the story is partially fiction, but I didn´t want to post two similar threads, without a reason…
Do you like kebabs?
