It’s spooky season! What’s your favorite scary movie?

For me its the movie Rose Red by Stephen King. I have loved it since I was about 7 or 8. (Probably shouldn’t have been watching that so young). Something about it was just so alluring. I did have nightmares about the stretching hallway for a while though.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I think tonight will be scary movie night!

I always liked Friday the 13th (Part 6). It was deeper into the 80s, and Jason gets hit by lightning giving him more cartoonish invincibility.

Nowadays I’m big into a show called “Evil” on Paramount Plus. It’s spooky in its own right, and makes you think.

I can’t really do horror/scary movies these days, but I’ve always liked The Shining

I understand this. I can only do scary movies when I’m in a stable mindset otherwise they make me paranoid.

The Shining is a classic!

I can’t do scary movies either. I’m trying to think of one and all I come up with are the Evil Dead movies. I liked the Dawn of the Living Dead too.

for years I always watched “halloween” one on Halloween night…no trick or treaters…just Halloween…not many horror I can watch…have to be old ones…no new ones…I get triggers…especially all the possession movies out.

“Darkness” was a good one…“Audition” was scary in it’s own horrible way…“Hellraiser 2” has always been one of my favorites, hits you on so many levels, and “House on Haunted Hill” is a classic.

I love that movie!

Great performances, and from the same director as “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things” if I’m not mistaken.

I like the conjuring movies. There’s a whole series that goes with them. I would highly recommend those movies. My favorite is the first conjuring and the third conjuring. The third conjuring is called the Devil made me do it.

My favorite is Event Horizon followed by The Shining. The first Alien movie I considered sci-fi but some call horror is a favorite too.

I don’t really like pure horror movies, so for me it’s aliens or maybe terminator 2.

I can’t tell you what my favorite scary movie is. But I can tell you one that’s not worth watching.

We watched one based on Dads looking at some newspaper or magazine article recently. It was one recommended in that article so we tried it.

“The Thing” from 1951. I have watched the Kurt Russel version before and it was ok from what I remember. The 1951 version was boring as hell with very little excitement and not much of a climax. I recommend you DO NOT waste your time on it.

Much like citizen Kane, it may have been a decent movie at the time, but if it was, it has not aged well. Boring as hell. I couldnt even watch it all. Kept leaving on commercials and not coming back for awhile.
