I live in a block of flats on an estate in London. The area has a very pleasant feel during the day. We have a diverse community.
However at night time the area has a different atmosphere, as drug dealing and taking happens on the stairs. The police are aware of the problem but don’t seem to be doing anything about it.
It’s kinda safe. We have something happen every now and again, but it’s to expected because it is a low income area. But it is safe for a low income area
I watched a documentary once about the gang problem in London, apparently you guys have lots of stabbings I hear
Not at all. But that’s why several of my family members conceal carry. Hopefully it won’t ever resort to violence, but my dad was subpoenaed because he was walking my dog and my dog sniffed out a bloody shirt. Apparently someone was stabbed there.
It’s relatively safe. I haven’t been a victim of crime in the 7 years I’ve been here. But I would only walk at night if I had to, I wouldn’t wander around or take walks for pleasure at night.
I saw recently when I was ordering pizza they actually said “we only deliver to buildings that I’m have a communal lobby”. Meaning I guess only condos. Poor apartment buildings with small private entrances I guess are off limits? Maybe they keep getting robbed
I live a few miles away from a ghetto that had gangster shooting back in the 90s
Sometimes I hear gunshots at night
But my apartment is great in convenience of location
I’ve been here 6.5 years, no break ins no issues with it whatsoever
Does anyone else live in a sparsely wooded rural area? Just curious if most are city dwellers or not.
I believe it is relatively safe here if you are from here. It gets extremely boring though.
Yes very, it’s Virginia. Nobody is up to anything here.
In Oakland California however (where I lived for a couple years) there were drug dealers and homeless people all over. I’m not conflating the two, they are separate people, but I ran into both and it’s hard to tell them apart from a distance sometimes.
It’s safe enough. I live in the “hood” as it’s called. I think cause all the hooded dementors from Azkaban lol. No it’s not a major city so it’s not bad. Really diverse on this side of town. Our city is mainly suburban. Stuff gets stolen if you leave it outside, but I don’t feel like I need to carry a gun or anything.
Yes, youth crime and violence are a big problem.
I am 61 and don’t have those type of people in my life. . It does worry me and effect my mental health
I live in a mediiim society class which seems to be growing, so people like to steal, destroy property and the likes. In 2018 I had my car stolen. You will always get the good with the bad, yin yang kind of thang!
My neighbourhood is safe. There is some drug dealing, but it’s a non violent kind, it’s not the deals but the seller point, a car meets another car and they sell the drug to the customer instead of the actual inter-gang affairs for attaining the drugs
