Is it good or bad?
Uk treats mentally ill very bad
If your suicidal you go to emergency room wait for several hours and then are referred to home treatment who see you at home for a couple of hours then your back to square one again
Only acute psychotic go into psych hospital
There is not much in way of therapy lack of therapists and many psychiatrist retiring
I get lots of help. I’m in the US. I am at a county mental health facility where I get a case manager, psychiatrist, individual therapist, plus a peer support specialist and I can go to group therapy if I want it. Right now I’m on a waitlist for the depression support group.
Yep i haven’t been in hospital since beginning 2018 yet ive been in crisis and overdosed and been bad many a times. Years ago they woul have sectioned me. Im safe rn but it feels like they don’t care anymore about life and people who are desperate
I have a psychiatrist, therapist, case worker and I get my monthly injections at the mental health agency twenty minutes away. I’m in the process of joining a walking group that the agency has. Last time I was hospitalized in 2015 the process to get inside took about twenty minutes. I just showed up and they interviewed me and I was in.
I’m currently with a youth mental health service here. I have a case manager, monthly appointment with a registrar, and appointment with a consultant psychiatrist every 3 months. This will go on for 6-9 months before I’m discharged and figure things out from there, probably in adult mental health system
It’s been a mixed experience. i’m too tired to go through the whole thing. I’ve been angry with them from time to time. I’ve gone through different parts of the service (access, a hospital at home service, and then the current service). Kept switching through a lot of clinicians, social workers, psychiatrists, registrars, and i felt like things weren’t passed along well on the way and other things. As a result they kept having different opinions of what was going on when i felt that it should have been obvious, because other people in the service had seen me at different stages.
My pdoc is actually a physician’s assistant who I see once a month, and then I have a therapist I see every other week. The only “real” psychiatrists in this town work in the hospital. It’s hard to get services here, there’s just not a lot of options.
My mental health services I’ve received haven’t been great. None of the places I’ve been to even have psychiatrists… just therapists and people who can prescribe meds….
Mine is great. I live in one of the bigger cities in my state and we have a clinic. I have a pdoc, therapist, co care coordinator, peer support specialist, and there is a day program with cool staff. Can’t ask for much more. I’m in the US.
In my country India, there are good medical facilities for mental health problems. But it depends on family members of the patient. If patient family wants to treat them then go to hospitals and provide treatment for the patient. Some time after admitting the patient in to hospitals they left the patient in the hospital without care and then the patient again come into street after discharge.
