My memory is still good. Not as good as it once was but still good, my short term memory. I am fifty three years young. How is your memory?
I was offered a place to stay at the hospital in National Institutes of health to do a study of a memory drug ten years ago. If I’m not mistaken that drug is now used, called Prevogen, and sold in pharmacies over the counter.
Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so good. But I have factors unrelated to schizophrenia I have to take into account as well. High blood sugar and the like due to diabetes also can affect my mental abilities.
either my memory is terrible, or im so unfocused and distracted by thoughts that i am not taking in the information. prob the second one. i cant remember ■■■■. even this morning is blurry.
It’s OK, I can remember a lot of my past though I tend to forget peoples names from experiences I’ve had. My memory took a hit in 2015 after a stressful move, it was bad at work, the boss would tell me to do a simple task and I would turn around and walk off and immediately forget what he told me. I could not remember appointments or driving instructions. I had to write down everything for a couple of years but my memory is better now.
My memory is both good and bad. I can retain important information usually but if you ask me what I’m watching during the commercial break I may have to think about it for a second.
I am fairly good at remembering facts (semantic memory), but generally terrible at recalling situations (episodic memory). Some stick though, even as they may seem insignificant.
