Is your country's health care system imploding?

Mine is. Badly.

If you’re one of those people who think it’s a good idea to try to emigrate to Canada, it really isn’t. And that’s if we were still accepting a lot of immigrants, which we’re not now. It is acknowledged that high immigration numbers are partly responsible for this mess. :frowning:

so sorry…that’s awful.

US system sucks too but you get treatment quickly.

Belgian healthcare is holding on.

I don’t take it for granted anymore that I have a family doctor and can see my pdoc every 4 to 6 weeks.

Canadas healthcare and housing is going down the tubes. Not good

If only it weren’t financially ruinous?

Yeah this ate up a lot of jobs too in my area. That mega immigration idea was a disaster lol.

And your medical system used to be held up as a good example of free health care when the subject came up in the U.S. Things change.

Our countries NHS is broken according to the government.

Yes, that’s the problem in the US. Services are readily available here because many people don’t want to (or are unable to) go thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. And that’s with health insurance. So, they often don’t seek needed treatment at all or only when it’s absolutely necessary, which is sometimes too late. With my insurance, there is an ANNUAL out-of-pocket limit of $7700. A couple of hospitalizations would do it. And everyone’s insurance is different, but not many of us have very good insurance policies. If you’re very sick, the insurance companies don’t even want you.

Our health system has been comatose for decades. I won’t go into details because it makes me sick. Let’s just say Hyppocrate’s oath is seldom taken seriously by doctors here, especially for elderly patients. Even more so for poor patients. Having a medical insurance doesn’t preclude having to pay out of pocket for many services. Don’t forget to bribe the nurses too.
