I read on NHS website that bupropion has been discontinued, is this worldwide or just in some countries?
Can you show me the link?
I’m on Wellbutrin and it would be a disaster if discontinued. Moreover, it’s a good selling drug so I don’t see the reason why!
I went to the NHS site under “smoking cessation” tab it was written under “bupropion” section that i was discontinued. Maybe the site is outdated, dunno. If you want ro read it yourself google “bupropion NHS”
maybe it’s discontinued for smoking cessation.
Probably true 1515
It was renamed before it was prescribed for smoking cessation, though it’s basically the same drug. There was a big stigma on any kind of mental health diagnosis or treatment when it came out (even more than today) so they didn’t want a smoking cessation aid associated with mental health treatment.
Look up Zyban and see if that’s discontinued, it’s the same medicine but renamed.
Welbutrin was still used for mental health treatment, I took it for bipolar back before I had sz symptoms as well. I really hope it’s still around because it’s useful for a lot of people… helped me get through college while I was depressed.
