Is Trilafon a good option for chronic stress?

I have suffered from feeling stressed a real long time and have used alcohol as a substitute.

From what I have read Trilafon doesen’t work as a antagonist to the GABA-system unlike most ap’s and this interests me.

Anyone made a sucsessful switch from another ap to Trilafon and got reduced stress? And how is the risk regarding dyskinea?

For me Trilafon was like a mild AP. I did gain about 15-20 lbs. on it. It reduced my ability to do physical exercise. Before I took it I could run five miles without even thinking about it. After I was put on Trilafon it was painful to run two miles. It did slow me down a bit, but not too much. It’s not like a major tranquilizer.

I’m on perphenazine ( trilifon) and it’s really helped me with anxiety and stress, with little movement problem’s. I only take it for anxiety and stress at 16 mg a day. I also take invega susstenna it’s a good combination.

All the other antipsychotics gave me worse headaches. I love my trilofan.

I take a hefty dose of it and I really like it. Best AP I’ve ever tried. It does have a lot of side effects, though. But I’d rather deal with side effects and be sane. 🤷

I was on 8 mg Trilafon for many years back in the old days. It did nothing for my psychosis and gave me an absolute wicked case of akathisia. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
