I was hospitalized a few years back for roughly 10 days. Total mad house and it was all minors I was a minor. Anyway, they made we watch the Truman show many times after knowing I was suffering delusions of this nature which greatly contributed into the delusions
I would say that was completely out of line.
I mean I laugh now but back then I was like what is this â– â– â– â– â– â– up place. It just seemed like they were play I g into the delusions instead of helping
Yeah probably not a good choice but when you think about it …Any movie would have fed your psychosis. It’s probably not the best choice because of subject matter but ultimately it had a happy ending. I’d like to think it was a clever way of working with your delusions to some sanity but suspect it was a decision by people who didn’t know or didn’t care.
That is probably the reality of the situation!
Ha honestly thats kind of funny.
Lol
It would be like going to a physiotherapist for a sore neck, and then being forced to watch the Exorcist scene where she spins her head around!
That’s what i chalked it up to lol
Precisely

Yes, that’s wrong. But did you tell them the movie was bothering you? They might not have known.
But The Truman Show seems like a strange choice of movies to watch in a psych ward. Its pretty creepy and disturbing in some parts to me.
Yeah, ■■■■that. I hate that movie. Just thinking about it puts me on edge. That being said, if you didn’t say something they truly may not have even realized it was an issue.
How do they make you watch a movie several times?
I’ve walked out of many group activities before, just because I thought they were nuts.
Hate that movie. The voices tried to convince me I was being recorded. I don’t have delusions but it can be convincing. There is no one who cares about what I do, that’s a very important lesson for all of us to know.
I was a minor and it was a classroom setting in a secure wing of a mental hospital. Couldn’t even walk to bathroom by ourselves
What the hell… that movie is really triggering…
Yeah i went to the hospital as a relief and to get some peace. I probably could sue then lol
Couldn’t you have just closed your eyes, or did they strap you in the chairs and put toothpics in your eyes to keep them open?
Don’t know about you, but I can’t focus long enough on a movie I want to see, let alone one I don’t want to see.
Well I was in a room full of autistic kids and a kid thinking he was a shape shifter that turned into a lizard at night so I was already dealing with alot of wierd â– â– â– â– , so the movie over and over kinda sat me over the top
In the last psych Hospital where I stayed, they were allowing Horror movies to be shown.
They encouraged it.
Definitely not good for me.
Holy crap! That’s scary. ![]()
How many times can they play the same movie over and over?
Sounds like bad babysitting to me.
