Is realizing you're gay just like Harry Potter?

I’m rereading the book and big hairy Hagrid bursts in the door and announces that Harry is a wizard. How much more magical would life be if coming out were just like that?

Also, does this mean I’ve read the series too much if I start connecting it to real life situations? I mean not for me, I’m not gay. Until I get an owl letter telling me I am anyway. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It would be a whole lot less confusing if someone else could just tell you, instead of having to figure it out for yourself. My dad tried to tell me back when I was in high school, but I didn’t believe him until I was 23.

By controlling what she was talking about in the video you’d have yourself a crusciates curse would you not?

That one could probably take on several forms though.

She was talking about what happens to your body when you fail to have hard conversations, and how hard conversations usually turn out to be the easiest hard conversations you ever have.

I like this TED Talk because it’s about ALL closets, not just the gay closet. For example, has anyone ever wanted to tell someone they have schizophrenia, but for whatever reason felt that you could not?

No. It’s not something you “figure out” or “realize”. It just happens, the way being straight happens.

I wouldn’t know. Thank goodness I don’t have that on top of this. Although I would think it’s easier to get laid if you’re gay because it’s all about sex in the gay community. Studies have shown that gay men have more sex than straight men

This whole conversation is making me lol :joy:

Totally get where sz fits into that video. Wish people new I had sz and I didn’t have to tell anyone. Feel like I’m hiding some terrible secret. I mean I’m pretty normal but sz has shaped my life and it just seems like people should know about it.

I know what you mean. However, sometimes I do tell people just to see their reaction. I think the key is to say the word without being embarrassed or worrying what the person’s reaction will be. If the person gets uncomfortable that’s their problem.

Yeah I told my pdoc I wanted to tell everyone at work. He said" why would you want to do that, you might make people around you uncomfortable.". Didn’t really like his response. Still might do it.

Many times when cashiers at Walmart look at me like they want me to hurry up I’ve told them “I’m sorry, my schizophrenia is acting up. What was the total?”

I’m out, loud and proud. Stories of my psychotic hijinks always go over super well at parties! The trick is knowing how to present them for maximum comedic effect.

Gays make up 1.8 percent and lesbians make up about 1.5 percent of the population from a quick search but they hold a lot of political power for their weightclass. Maybe people with sz could learn that from them. Of course maybe it is the support of people in the media and people in hollywood that tries to shift public opinion in such a way.

Church i went to said if I get off by myself I’m gay

Harry pot head.

Get off by yourself and you’re gay? There must have been a lot of shifting and murmering in the audience when they cracked out that gem.

around late teenage years, I wasn’t sure if I was white or black. then I got my driver’s license and saw two letters “R B”. I think the 'R" stood for “race” and the “B” stood for “black.” my brother doesn’t think so. I just think I’m mixed, but people say I sound like an African when I’m on the phone.

my sexuality was quite clear though. and I don’t think anyone can determine another person’s sexuality.

Lol gay implies relations between two individuals of the same sex…wait so if you have d.I.d with multiple personalities …does that make you gay?..
