Doctors don’t know the causes for schizophrenia …
they would say genetics and environmental reasons or brain chemicals ( that they never give a clear picture of what is exactly wrong in the brain chemicals …
what on earth is not genetic or environmental ???
They don’t know how to cure schizophrenia …
they give us several kinds of pills that we have to try until we find the perfect one and when you find that one it will just make you worse.
May be psychotherapy is a wrong path ??
I believe it is a worse way to go about dealing with SZ, but without it you lose access to lots of useful benefits, you also lose the support of the vast majority of society.
It’s really a win-lose or lose-win scenario, however you look at it.
I don’t think it’s an illusion… I think it has a long way to go…
Doc’s are just now getting out of older ways of thinking… new therapies… new diagnosis methods… new meds…
test to see if some meds will even work…
I feel that things are getting better…
Illnesses like Schizophrenia and Bipolar are biological based brain disorders, Meds are the primary treatment choice.
Psychotherapy alone usually wont do much - Meds need to be on board.
I go see a therapist, but I take meds - psychotherapy does not usually work unless the patient is stable to some degree, this is where meds come in.
