Is Life Short?

People use the phrase, “Life is short”. It does not seem short but impossibly long! I have about 20 or 30 years left and I think that is ideal. I have a long term goal of getting really good on guitar and it will take years and years and years of practice. But I’ll probably just fade into eternity. I am stressed today though I don’t work or do Anything hard. I guess I have not been getting my good sleep I usually get. I don’t want to go on forever, but an afterlife with no or little pain would be nice. What do you think of the often used phrase, Life is short? What’s with those people, anyway?

Life is not short. But the time you go through it without weakness, medical troubles, and aches and pains is.

When you have fun,
life is short.
When you suffer,
life is long.

I could die tomorrow, there’s no guarantee, but I can’t let go of hope of a pleasant afterlife.

I don’t care about afterlife.
I don’t even care about this life.
Let things happen as they happen.
Nature and life are wise.

we’ve talked about this on here,

and I think some agreed with me that
days are long, but years fly by.

can you take something for sleep?
mine is erratic too.
I think I read on Facebook,
it’s good to sleep like 4 or 5 hours a night,

then be up awhile, and take a long nap sometime
during the day.

I talk to my pdoc today but she isn’t forthcoming about meds for sleep.

hmmm, well melatonin is relatively cheap, OTC.

I used to sleep real good when I was exercising.

Long days short years.

Life goes by more and more quickly the older that you get.

Definitely… though I am 27 and don’t really do much through out the day… the days are never long enough😔

One of my friends recently said to me that once you have kids time also flies by.

I remember the quote from Hobbes. Life is nasty, brutish and short.

When you have kids, life is short because they grow up so fast and then they’re gone. And it never seems like enough time was spent with them before they leave. Before you know it your elderly and your time is up

Life is short in the bigger scheme of things.
I agree with @Bowens
Life flies by when you are older

Among the species on Earth we have one of the longer lifespans so we are lucky in that sense, but life still seems short, and it seems to go by quicker the older you get.

My childhood and teenage years seemed to last forever, my 20’s and 30 flew by. I find it hard to believe I am 43 sometimes.

It makes me feel lonely when others don’t experience reality as I do. You can live forever in the NOW. We are in eternity. Life did seem to go by faster for awhile, a long, long time ago. There’s no such thing as time. It feels as if ages upon ages have gone by. Things are mixed up, two days can seem like two weeks and at the same time two weeks seem like two days. I’m hoary.

Life is short. My mother with schizophrenia only lived 10 years more than my age now. I can remember 10 years ago. It doesn’t seem that long. I don’t feel like I ever even got to live my life, due to constant interference from people I couldn’t stand.

As Hobbes said, “The life of man is solitary, nasty, brutish and short.”

Last two years at California flew by, but the 5 months I was in solitary confinement in 2015 seemed to last a decade.
