Why life goes by so fast?

Every year feels shorter the more I live. Why does life feel so short? Is there any science out there about this?

Theres prolly a few reasons. We feel we have less time remaining as it goes on. Youve experienced more time, so time feels less. Youve learned to deal with mundane passage of time. Even more likely

I’m at the edge of life looking at reflecting of all the years. It’s gone by. There’s been long ones and short ones and sometimes the same. But never did I feel as hopeless as I am. I’m standing on the edge and looking down. There is no reality to be found. And hopes that it runs in circles. It doesn’t vary from a path. Life moves on. And I may not last. For if I jump. I can’t fly back up. And if I crawl down. It’s too hard to stand up. I hope you can forgive me for what I have said. Life isn’t fair. When time is it there.

I have many memories of the years past. good ones mostly…a lot of bad too though. I’m just happy I don’t dig ditches anymore.

When I had issues that I am not able to deal with it felt like eternity and when things are going so well it’s too short.

I still remember living in the board & care home and working at Sears like it just happened but almost thirty years have gone by since then. It flew by.

Same. Obama in 2008 stands out to me as a vivid memory and amazes me that it was over 15 years ago.

Life goes by fast whether you like it or not,

Almost half way.

My mom was just talking about life expectancy yesterday. So I looked it up this morning. It’s like 73 for men and 78 or 79 for women in the US. My dad is 71, so if he ends up with average, he only has 2 more years. My mom has various health problems and is 68 or 69.

As for me, I am almost 51, have diabetes, smoked a good portion of my life, am overweight and not active enough.

If I don’t make changes I would not be surprised if I don’t make it past 60. Less than ten years. I can still remember 25 years ago like it just happened yesterday, so I can imagine how fast 10 years will go.
