Is it possible to “grow out” of bipolar disorder

I heard one time that bipolar can go away forever but after 30 if you still have it than it will never go away sadly I’m 31 however I haven’t even had a hypomanic since I’ve been on haldol I’m not asking for medical advice but is it true you can grow out of bipolar disorder I know there’s a very high chance I’ll never grow out of it the haldol probably simply just works because I don’t hear voices anymore but it’s a question not medical advice

Bipolar doesn’t just go away but it can certainly be managed especially with medication

That’s what I thought it gives me hope when I read it can he managed and you can live a happy productive life even with stuff like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but I remember reading that a few years ago maybe it was taken down I can’t find the article

My pdoc said things can change over the years. So yes in a way you can grow out of certain stages.

Dam.

They put you on Haldol for Bipolar.

You got to do research on medications, bro. Haldol is not the first line medication for Bipolar.

It is a medication of second-last resort for Schizophrenia.

Last resort being Clozapine.

Haldol is not a bad medication, but TD is a possible long-term side effect, and it is the reason why they try to avoid prescribing it.

I hated haldol. I couldnt even sit down for 2 minutes without needing to get up and pace. On clozapine now and am doing excellent

It possible that someone with bipolar 1 can have one episode of mania that never happens again, but people like that are on the rare side and technically your just need have one episode of mania to keep the diagnoses forever.

Edit: My pdoc have a bipolar patient has not been active for 20 years

Yeah I gotta keep reminding myself because I’m having doubts HOWEVER the haldol is probably working better than any other med I’ve ever been given that’s why I’m not having the symptoms I know I’ve made a lot of these posts a lot but it’s a off and on belief
