Is it dangerous to have a body temperature of 96.5?

A normal body temperature is 98.6 F, but mine is 96.5 F. Is it dangerous to have a body temperature this low? I don’t think mine has ever been this low. I tried to look it up, but different websites were saying different things. What do you guys think?

If your worried then see a regular doc. Always important to see a doc. The internet is great for information but a doctor has probably seen pretty much it all!

We definitely don’t have the money to see a doctor right now, and I don’t have insurance at the moment either. I wanted a second opinion in case it was nothing to worry over to avoid the medical bills if possible.

I’m not sure it’s a bad thing! If it was raised then that is usually an indication of other things. Being lower I’m not too sure!

Some things I read said it shouldn’t be under 97.6, but some others said it’s fine as long as it’s not under 95

Is there a free calling place that tell you what they get from hearing your symptoms and whether you need to be seen or.not

How do you FEEL? Individuals’ baseline body temperatures vary quite a bit. The actual average “normal” is 98.2°F. If low body temperature results from disease, there are always other symptoms. If you feel well, I wouldn’t raise an eyebrow until your morning temperature goes below 96°F.

I’ve read that it can be caused by an eating disorder, which I’m starting to suspect I have, but I don’t have any other physical symptoms other than I’m cold a lot and low body temperature. My dark circles under my eyes have gotten worse, but I think that’s unrelated to the temperature.

Is it hot or cold where your at?

It low but not abnormally low. When I was with the elderly population this was quite normal.

A lot of elderly patients of mine used to reach body temperatures of 96 degrees. Dr’s don’t get alarmed about this. It is considered within normal limits.

If you have an eating disorder you could have dark circles under your eyes

My temps gets low when it’s cold outside.

When I was bulimic, I looked like Hell. Frizzy, dry, long hair, puffy all over with acne all over my face. I believe I had dark circles too. So glad that’s all over.

My temperature has always been slightly low. I’m usually 96.7-97.5. It’s never caused me any harm, but if it’s unusual for you definitely call your doctor. Some people are just naturally a bit different.
