Is cotards really that uncommon?

I read there are only 200 reported cases worldwide, that can’t be right?

I don’t really want to believe my main delusion is that uncommon

I just looked on the internet and the results I got in google search were anywhere from 100 to 348 worldwide. So, it appears to be fairly rare.

"As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, there is no comprehensive and up-to-date data on the exact number of cases of Cotard’s syndrome worldwide. Cotard’s syndrome, also known as “walking corpse syndrome,” is a rare and complex neuropsychiatric disorder where individuals believe that they are dead, do not exist, or have lost their organs.

Because Cotard’s syndrome is rare and often goes misdiagnosed or undiagnosed, it’s difficult to determine a precise number of cases. Additionally, the syndrome can be a symptom of other underlying mental health conditions, further complicating its diagnosis and reporting. If you’re interested in more recent and accurate statistics on Cotard’s syndrome, I recommend checking with reputable medical sources, academic research, or healthcare organizations that specialize in mental health."

It’s the belief that you are dead or decaying or have body parts that are missing

I just don’t like that it’s so rare because it makes me feel more hopeless? Like no professional I’ve talked to knows how to work with it beyond meds

Don’t feel bad that’s all my doctors do is treat me with meds for my condition and never work with me in talking about my beliefs to work things out.
