Is anyone else terrified of going on fairground rides?

I don’t mind looking at them. But even since I was a kid I’ve been terrified of actually going on things like this

No I love those they’re fun. Sometimes I get nerves before huge roller coasters but that’s it. Often with those rides they look scary but once you actually ride them you realize they’re fun! Face your fear! :smiling_imp:

I used to do every single ride till around the age 17.
Now i am afraid of a med side effect like heart attack  But when sane and well it is fun

I went on the worlds at the time, tallest and fastest roller coaster like 5 times in high school. Then I went to the least scary amusement park in the world like 3 years ago and it was 10000x scarier. I think when U get older U get more cautious about this stuff

In the past I couldn’t get enough of the rides, my favorite is in a real airplane, (not the commercial kind.)

Nowadays, I don’t trust the people putting them together enough to feel safe enough to ride one, a lot of places just don’t pay the maintenance man enough to do a very thorough job.

Amusement Parks and Carnivals are triggering places for me.
The crowds, the strangers, the noise, the rides! (I don’t go on rides).

The swing ride in your photo is fun. I have been on one like it. I do not like things that drop you from very high or take you upside down.

Have you been to six flags NJ. I reckon it’s probably within an hour of you ??? That’s where I went on kingda ka, the worlds fastest and tallest roller coaster at the time!!

And then when I was scared buttless was at rye playland 3 years ago!!! The rides there weren’t that scary but I had anxiety. To be a kid again?

Have u ever been on the ride that spins in a circle and you stick to the wall??? And they play music??? I described it to my friend as having a “bad trip” with drugs. Same kind of feeling.

I’m scared of heights so anything high up scares me like the Ferris wheel. One’s that spin and go fast but not high are fine for me.

No that ride you showed in the picture is fun, it’s the only one I go on.

Mr Turtle and I went to the exhibition one year and he had never been on that ride so I convinced him to go on it. He’s afraid of heights though! He got the seat that went higher than mine and I said to him “Oh you’re lucky you get to go higher than me.” and he started to freak out silently a bit. Twas funny, many lols. He still brings it up to this day.

I hate those things. I know I will die if I go on one. So yeah I’m terrified by them. I get panic attacks just watching them sometimes. I’m super glad my kids are too old for those carnivals now.

I don’t like heights but I love roller coasters. Haven’t ridden one in a long time though.

Used to go to Astro World every now and then in Houston. But it’s been closed for a while now.

I haven’t ridden on a amusement park ride since my teens. im going to be thirty in October so its been a while. crowds were never my strong suit. I worry about my partner and her little sister getting on rides since I don’t trust that the rides are properly maintained.

we have a carnival when the circus comes back in town to rest for the summer and I usually try to avoid going but my partner’s little sister wants me to go cause she knows I love funnel cakes and cotton candy. I think this time we are going to get drinks from the pharmacy just down the street of the carnivall
