Invega got me weighing 229. I really hope i dont have to be on antipsychotics for life cause losing weight is close to impossible at least on invega it is. In the past 9 days ive lost 5lbs and gained back almost 3 in 2 days. Im sorry i just cant go back to walking 9 to 12 miles everyday.

Yeah, the way AP’s affect your weight is not ok. Makes us look like gluttons when we aren’t.
Just speaking in general, I don’t personally have an eating issue anymore.

Yo its weird bcus my eating didnt become an issue until i got on APs. I was able to maintain 160 eating anything i wanted before. But once i got on invega i blew up fast. It took me like 3 months to gain 60lbs.

Same here. My weight isn’t extreme right now, but it takes a lot of effort to trim up.
Would be nice if i could be at my ‘normal’ weight while on AP’ s.

Thats sort of how i feel to but i still get out and walk everyday hoping to get down to 160-170 i dont even care about abs and muscles i just want to be back to my normal weight
To anyone looking to lose weight, I used to a bit round around the mid section XD one important part that I feel is often overlooked is sodium intake. It’s so crucial. If you are over the doctor recommended amount it will only increase hunger, and the problem is its in everything now a days. You can eat like 3 pieces of pizza and be at your 100% mark. I know AP’s cause weight gain atleast in part because they slow metabolism, but you can fight against it by limiting how much salt you intake to 1000-1500 mg.

Yes, it could also be because your meal didn’t contain enough fiber, or it could be prediabetes, diabetes (which isn’t uncommon with schizophrenia) or something else. Best to check with a doctor

I gained a lot of weight on that meds. Try a different meds. I take topiramate for weight loss
Idt its diabetes cause i get my blood drawn every month to keep an eye on that and other factors. If it is and they dont tell me im sueing.

I eat 1 meal a day and it’s not even a big meal and invega and other meds from the past 9 years turned me Into a 252lb person

I think it slows the metabolism down and causes negative symptoms. im not sure, i just know before invega it was easier to maintain weight and have in interest in things in general

Honestly. They try to put everyone on invegaa. Do everything you have to do to get off that drug man. I’m not saying quit aps. Just saying get on something else. It’s your right. Putting on that weight when your a thin person does more to you psychologically then the illness itself.
