I have paranoid schizophrenia and I take 250 mg Amisulpride every day. I have taken it for about a year now. The medication does help a lot, but there still is some thoughts that it hasn’t get rid of completely. If I increase the dose to 300 mg do you think it will help? I know I should ask my pdoc about it, but I also want to know if anybody have been in the same situation and did you increase the dose of Amisulpride and did it help?
I have been on 800mg for about 2 years now and it works well.
We moved up pretty quickly to that as I was struggling.
About 6 months ago we tried 1000mg but that didn’t make any difference
We tried pregabalin as anxiety was more of the problem. Doctors were not available so they didn’t actually see me in person and were messing with my meds over the phone
I have schizoaffective disorder bipolar type and have taken amisulpride for seven years. I’ve been on 200-600mg
I’ve discovered that 200mg is my minimum dose. If I go to 100mg I relapse
On 200mg I do fairly well but sometimes especially in stress times I relapse (getting depression, or self harming, or hypomania or hearing voices) and if I do I increase it to 300mg for a few days and it helps a lot
In the times I relapsed and needed to go to hospital because for severe depression and voices I was taking 200mg and when they increased it to 400mg I recovered very quickly.
This happened with at least three or four hospitalisations so now I know the pattern and increase it myself to try and avoid hospital. So far I’ve been out of hospital for one and a half years
