Going to see if I feel a difference. I’m down to two medications: Vraylar and Trazodone.
Why risk it?..
Doctor said I can do it to rule out avolition. He said to not touch the Vraylar. I’m sure that’s a big part of it, but I sort of like Vraylar. I need Trazodone for insomnia induced by Vraylar. So I wont touch that.
I might go on Topamax. He said I might need less meds after looking at my diagnosis. So that’s what I’m doing. Its supposed to be just for a week.
I stopped cymbalta first. I really hate that med now. I notice my cognition is slightly better off of it. I really hated the brain zaps when quitting.
Since I have a mood disorder, a mood stabilizer might be better than an AD. Plus, I want to reverse my weight gain.
A word about Topamax - when I took it, I got very bad pressure in my eyes. When I went back to my doctor, she took me off it immediately. Apparently it’s a rare side effect to affect eyes, but if you keep taking the Topamax, it can cause permanent damage. Not trying to scare you in the slightest, just give you something to look out for to protect you.
Nothin’ like SNRI brain zaps. I now think Effexor is poison after FINALLY making it off.
Good luck with your med trial!
There is a possibility for aggressive behavior with topamax. Pay attention to your moods. If you feel angry for no reason keep a close eye on your reactions to people and things. I can’t take it because of that.
