I'm still hearing voices

Hi Group I’ve been on Serequol 4 days now and still have conversations out side my ear or in my head. The people in my head are still going on and on. Why is this happing, still waiting to see Psychiatrist.

It took awhile before my meds made them go away. I hope you get in to see a Dr soon.

@Turtle43 thank you. It is so real, but I know its not true. I am on a break from work, and continue to work, to make ends meet. My job is not that stressful at all. And I sleep well. No addictions of drugs or anything.

They aint gonna go away, after just 4 days mate. Give it time. You need the drug to build up in your system. Make sure you get plenty of sleep - it will help.

Round here, a shrink wont change your meds, unless you been on them at least 6 months.

Thought about the jab? Trust me its alot easier.

At least you still have some insight to know it’s not true that’s good.

@Naarai thank you for telling me that. Ok so it takes time to build up in my system. What is the jab?

Lol sorry. I meant a Depot injection, you have in your arse or your arm. Alot of us are on it. I

@Naarai oh ok, never heard of that, does it work?

For me it does. It keeps me fairly stable. The common one over here in the uk is the Xeplion injection, or Invega as its known in the US.

It stops the temptation of quitting the pills as well, when your feeling well - but still need it.

I’m on clozapine, a very strong antipsychotic, and I still hear voices. They might never go away.

Bummer mate. You treatment resistant?

@WhiteRaven ok well I hope it will go away.

@Naarai what does treatment resistance mean?

That your resistant to the medication? ie - they dont work? I asked, because usually Clozapine is used as a last resort.

@Naarai I have been on this med 4 days now. Apparently it takes awhile for it to work, from one of the posts on this site. I have a doctors apt August 11. I will talk to the doctor, it is still going on the conversations. It never goes away, until I fall asleep. I wake up with conversations and it just doesn’t shut off.

Well, if its only been 4 days - i would give it time to kick in. I would be seriously surprised if clozapine doesnt knock it on the head for you. Its one of the most powerful drugs out there.

@Naarai ok, I have even tried Risperdone, for a long time, it didn’t work. I have tried this serequoul before too it didn’t work, so the doctor from the hospital, (went there Wednesday night) said I should try it again. I will talk to the doctor about your suggestion. Thank you.

Yeah, I’ve been treatment resistant. Also, the clozapine is useful when you experience suicidal ideation a lot. It’s really helped with that…
