It’s not even 11:30 pm, and I will be up all night; I may have a crappy night ahead of me at this rate.
Last night I made a to-do list for the week with 12 items on it. I crossed off only one last night, but it’s my goal to cross off at least three tonight. Hell, three of them are taking out the kitchen trash, the trash bag of papers I picked up off the living room floor last night (my place is a total mess, but I will make improvements to that), and the bag of used litter. I could accomplish those three with two trips to the dumpster. I just need to work up the motivation. I’d like to mix in at least one of the more time-consuming tasks, like doing the dishes or preparing next semester’s syllabus. We’ll see.
Sorry, I’m just rambling because I’m bored, tried to be concise.
There’s one forum member I often PM with, I won’t reveal her identity for the sake of her privacy, but she’s not on right now. I’m sure she will be on later, though. Yeah, maybe my night will improve and become productive.
It sucks being lonely, and just seems to be magnified when it’s during the holidays like this.
I’ve posted on here quite a bit the past couple days, but I haven’t really had any real-life human interaction for two days now. That’s just not normal for me. I enjoy my alone time, just not this much of it at once.
How’re your pets doing? Can you snuggle with them to help stave off the feelings of loneliness?
My 6lb dog is currently curled up on my stomach as I’m lying on the sofa. She’s watching TV as I’m typing this. Unfortunately, she is in the habit of “commenting” on whatever’s on TV. She’ll bark one “woof” then again another single “woof” a minute later and so on.
The Cheetos and diet Dr Pepper I had earlier tonight is giving me indigestion and making my stomach make weird gurgling sounds. My little dog keeps giving me annoyed looks. Apparently this is interfering with her TV watching.
Lol that is too funny about your dog. I have a little 7 lb chihuahua, though I imagine you’ve seen the pics I’ve posted, just don’t know if you remember them.
Small dogs are pretty funny. This is my first small dog. My previous dog was a 60lb black lab. My little dog loves retrieving as much as my lab used to. She’s bringing me her tiny squeaky bone as we speak. She loves that toy cause she can squeak it in her mouth as she retrieves it.
I used to like only big dogs, until I got my chihuahua and she just found her way into my heart. I only got her because my ex-gf, who was living with me, talked me into it; she wanted something to cuddle while I was at work. Two years after the break-up and I still have her, though i’m certainly not complaining, I love my dog.
I made an account on this site tonight because I was/am feeling lonely. I just want a friend who I can relate to on some level. Your post gave me hope that there are people like me in the world ️
I hope you can cross some tasks off your list. But if you don’t. That’s okay too. You’re doing the best you can.
Was a quiet day here, slept most of it. I got invited to a Christmas dinner at a old neighbors place, but it is a 25 story building they live in now and I’m allergic to perfumes, (man made chemicals) so could not go there. It was more a sympathy invite anyway so would not really feel welcome.
Been 30+ years since I participated in Christmas with anyone and the last one I gave the present back to my X, pissed her off but she was the one cheating. LOL
Anyway used to being alone, the social pressure this time of year is the worst of it, what did you do, what did you get, makes it awkward.
Not really lonely but I’m cold. So cold I pulled my quilt off my bed and am using that along with my usual blanket. I’m usually a trooper in the cold though not today.
I’m feeling a bit better, after an hours-long chat with a friend. I plan on going to bed sort of early, in an hour or two (5 or 6 am) so I can be at my sister’s house in the early afternoon. I only crossed one thing off my to-do list tonight, but when I wake up and the sun is out I will take care of some things, crossing three or four tasks off the list.
I work midnights, 10pm-6am, get home from work around 7am. It’s best for me to keep a consistent sleep schedule, so I’m up all night even on my nights off.
