my mother in law asked me to keep the house clean for her but her brother and her family keep making messes. i have a hard enough time cleaning up after myself

They’re probably taking advantage of you, because they know you have to clean up so they just make as much mess as they want. You could try kindly asking them to pick up after themselves a little.
well it so happens that my partner and her uncle’s girlfriend got a job at the same place and the uncle works similar hours so i got asked to help babysit
