My in laws are fighting. I know who cares? But when they fight my father in law is an extra butthole mood. I got asked by my mother in law to please clean the cabinet doors, dish washer, oven and fridge. I did. But the appliances are stainless steel so they streak easily. I got told by my father in law to do them all over again. So I did. Then a couple of hours past my partner’s little sister and niece made cookies making a mess on both stove tops. I got told to clean them again just as I was about to they sent me home so they can lock the door and go out to eat.
@cbbrown. Your father in law sounds like an abusive jerk. Have you and your partner ever tried just saying a firm “no” to your in laws’ demands? You’re already paying rent so why are you also cleaning their kitchen?
TBH, it sounds like your in laws need you and your partner more than you need your in laws. Your inlaws sound like they are chronically short of money and too incompetent to do household chores themselves. Maybe it’s time to set firm boundaries with the in laws?
