Most dogs are friendly. There are exceptions though.

I’m told I got knocked down by a dog when I was a baby and became afraid of them for a long time. Some of that fear is still in me.
You need to make friends with some dog owners who will allow you to spend time with their dogs…
I didn’t like dogs as a kid. Our neighbour’s dog was a little aggressive (probably didn’t get walked enough). But when my parents got a dog I realised that they are very easy to get on with and make excellent companions.
Some dogs are fearful of new people and will bark and bark for like 15 minutes when they meet you for the first time. Then once they know you can be trusted they will never bark at you again.
This is something I wish I knew when I was younger because I assumed dogs always acted like this.
