but my best friend is

but ive also never seen or talked to a dr
because i dont want to be send away
i love my best friend and i dont want to see him go
and i know i cant doing anything to “fix” him but i want him to feel safe
i really dont want him to get scared or paranoid because of me

Hello, @sarahera. Like Everhopeful said, you should register at the family forum. You’ll find tons of advice on how to help someone with schizophrenia over there. If you suspect you might have a psychotic disorder, then feel free to stick around here. I encourage you to see a doctor about your suspicions. They won’t send you to the hospital unless you say you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else. Hospitals are overcrowded, and they won’t send you there for just anything.

When I was having psychotic symptoms while it was getting worse, having someone who helped assure me when I saw scary things, or experienced delusions, as being supportive to me and not saying that I’m simply crazy and all that, is very helpful.
Yeah, join the support forum people recommended here, but also be a shoulder for your friend to lean on when they struggle the most and just assure them everything will be fine and make their experiences feel valid.

i dont know what im doing anymore
my friend is like the only person i have in my life
well had
he told me he never wanted to talk to me again
and well i guess im being selfish but i love him to death
i cant lose him
he says that im a member of the soviet union
which obviously im not
im not even Russian
but hes been off of his medicines
and bill the one person in his head that takes most control
and bill hates me because im a girl im assuming
but im in love with my friend
not in a friend way
i do think i could have psychotic disorder and im planning on seeing one because my friend has hurt me without knowing so it makes me think maybe i have hurt others without relizing it because of things i do that come out wrong
What symptoms do you have that make you think you might have a psychotic disorder?
And don’t take the stuff he says personally. Hes paranoid right now, and this illness causes us to naturally isolate and push people away through our delusions.
Paranoia and hallucinations and i know i know He has those and i know with being with him that it’s a huge possibility that he’s going to hurt me because of it and honestly will I just need to do everything right and control my own feelings when it happens
You should get your friend on this forum in a thread that the both of you are in and talk thru your thoughts with the rest of us to act as group therapy
I’m going to try but he doesn’t tend to use the computer but i know this could really help him
Schizophrenia alone is unlikely to cause violent behavior. The best way to predict if someone will be violent in the future is whether they have been violent in the past.

He’s never been violent in the past and everyone keeps saying go to the family form and yes i know I should go that one but I need help from people who Actually deal with schizophrenia not people who are In the same situation as me
But the thing is, we don’t know what it’s like to care for someone with schizophrenia. We only know what it’s like to experience it ourselves. This lack of perspective on both parts leads to a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings, which is why we keep the two forums separate. If you want to come here for support in dealing with your own disorder, that’s fine, but we are not qualified to give advice on how you should help your friend. For that, you really need the family forum.
