I'm having some heart issues

I can feel my heart pumping (beating) faster from time to time.
Can feel the blood rush to my head.
It’s gotten worse since increasing the risperidone dose.
It’s not chronic but happens quite often.
Certain AP’s cause a fast heart rate - risperidone is famous for it.
Can’t be good for my heart.
Going to talk to my doctor about it soon.
I may call her up.

I got off Risperdal for a lot of reasons and heart disease related to the med is one of them…I am on prolixin and loving life.

No I’ve had drug induced Tachycardia on 4mg of risperidone before @Montezuma.
It’s the risperidone causing this.
Might be time for me to switch over to a “safer” AP.

I think all the ap’s can affect your heart in one way or another. I’m wondering what kind of shape my heart is in.

Sounds like a solid plan. Maybe at least a safer, 2nd generation AP. Is risperidone 1st gen ? I can’t remember.

I had this a few times since I upped my abilify dose too and abilify is heart friendly. Just when I get ready to go to sleep. I’m just assuming it’ll go away when I get used to the increased dose.

I never really had this problem on Abilify.
My father wants me to retry Abilify.

Last time I was having this issue on 4mgs my pdoc lowered the dose.
She didn’t consult with my GP.

You said you were on abilify for 10 years. So it’s a known quantity for you anyway.

Yeah once in a while my heart will beat faster (harder).
It has happened to before on 4mg of risperidone but this time it’s more frequent and more subtle.
